My research focuses on investigating the effects of ovarian hormones on memory and brain aging. I completed both my Master’s and PhD at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Gillian Einstein. My Master’s research investigated the effects of hormonal contraception on working memory in younger females. For my PhD research, I focused on the influence of hormone therapy on cognition, brain structure, and sleep in females with early ovarian removal, a population at increased risk for later life dementia. Building on this work, my postdoctoral research in the Galea Lab uses mixed methods to explore how biological and social factors shape the effects of hormonal contraception and menopausal hormone therapy on brain health. I also contribute to advancing Sex- and Gender-Based Analysis Plus (SGBA+) at CAMH. Outside of the lab, I enjoy HIIT classes, playing hockey, live music, mentoring undergraduate students, and tackling low-budget craft projects.
